Song of the Day: "Mrs. Robinson"

Today is my last day here at Denver Music. Soon someone local will be taking over, providing a real grasp of the Denver culture and scene as well as who's playing in the area! I look forward to finding out about all kinds of new artists as well as well-known locals and I hope you do, too.

Today's song is one of the best songs that Simon and Garfunkel ever came up with. It's not one of their most meaningful, no; but it's about the MILFs and Cougartown and Stacy's moms out there who put the cliched daddy-caught-with-his-younger-secretary story to shame. I'm talking about you, Stifler's mom! And the best part is that Simon and Garfunkel sang about it long before it was cool enough for a movie franchise or TV contract.

Here's a bit of "Mrs. Robinson" for you this fine Saturday morning...

And here's to you, Mrs. Robinson
Jesus loves you more than you will know (Wo, wo, wo)
God bless you please, Mrs. Robinson
Heaven holds a place for those who pray
(Hey, hey, hey...hey, hey, hey)

We'd like to know a little bit about you for our files
We'd like to help you learn to help yourself
Look around you, all you see are sympathetic eyes
Stroll around the grounds until you feel at home

And here's to you, Mrs. Robinson
Jesus loves you more than you will know (Wo, wo, wo)
God bless you please, Mrs. Robinson
Heaven holds a place for those who pray
(Hey, hey, hey...hey, hey, hey)

Hide it in a hiding place where no one ever goes
Put it in your pantry with your cupcakes
It's a little secret, just the Robinsons' affair
Most of all, you've got to hide it from the kids
